Cycle Tech UK An Independent Organisation



Entrepreneur Martin Wilkins hit the road with Cycle Tech back in 2007 with a revolutionary concept that became an instant hit.

There were so few mobile Technicians at the time, that Cycle Tech UK soon became the business to look up to. It stood out from the crowd, networking instead of working to line the pockets of a franchise, it was about supporting each other, as we are not in competition and autonomous to decide how we run our business within a framework. 


Cycle Tech UK, views cycling and the bike trade as a community working together and not an industry - A labour of love.


Martin began in the bike trade back in 1985 working in the local bike shop before leaving school.  Combined with his long term mechanical experience of running a mobile car company. His world travel adventures, were make do and mend is the way of life. 

Volunteer working his way around the world, improvising and finding solutions to support the projects, gave him the idea to offer a mobile bicycle repair service in the UK. That quickly grew into Cycle Tech UK, the largest network of Cycle Technicians.

Not only supporting the Independent businesses but cyclists locally, from family bikes to those committed to cycling as a sport. 

The Technicians are one-on-one with the customers, offering the best advice and give the very best in customer care.

Cycle Tech UK has become the leader in mobile servicing and is trusted with companies like BMW, BOSCH, and BH Bikes to support their customers needs, including warranty claims.

 

Nowadays, we are continually refining our service and product knowledge to help us stay ahead of the competition and be world leaders in bicycle repair. By Cycle Technicians delivering personal service experience directly with the customer. Independent Cycle Technicians at the heart of cycling, who enjoy their job with a feeling of helping the community and supporting more people to cycle.

Cycle Tech UK, continues to sponsor young riders like Tom Townsend and supports the Will Houghton Foundation.


For 2022, Jodie Siberini-Wilkins (The daughter of the founder) assisting with customer care. Having direct access to help organise the Technicians and support the customers as Cycle Tech UK network continues to grow. Jodie has been involved with Cycle Tech UK, make's it a family business.


Cycle Tech UK is continuing to look for more Cycle Technicians Nationally, there is strength in numbers to remain Independent.

We started Cycle Tech UK to make it convenient to get your bike fixed, connecting a network of like-minded Technicians who can support each other and help more people cycle locally. 
Giving advice and building new bikes cyclists have brought online at their homes.

The community we have established has become an independent organisation, that allows everyone involved to keep growing and producing the very best service. 
  • The Cycle Tech UK main office is also working closely with Independent training schools. Developing Technicians who want to invest and better their skill level for today's bicycles and e-bikes. 
  • Our main office is also the hub for contact with organising, warranty jobs with our partners. By sending jobs within striking distance to Technicians and organizing parts to be sent. 
  • Our website and postcode search connects cyclists with their local Technicians.   
  • Group intelligence with tech support and finding parts. 
  • Standard rates for the level of service we offer. 
  • We link Technicians with bike brands who sell directly with customers. Our Technician builds the bike and handover, following PDI. This connects the brand and the customer with a Cycle Technician for the life of the bike. 
  • Those who are interested in working in partnership, whether a Technician or brand/manufacture, can get in touch for us to offer a backup service and support for your customers giving them the very best experience and building the brand's reputation.

Each Cycle Tech UK member is an Independent business (Autonomous) working to the same high standard and service under the same logo. Like-minded individuals who like to fix bicycles. Each member uses the logo identified by the area they cover. Cycle Tech UK set the standers to its members so each customer is getting the same high service.

Each member is autonomous and chooses how they operate their business day to day and are solely responsible for complying with all laws and statutory regulations that are relevant to their business.

We are also working direct with manufactures and brands, as we see a shift selling direct to consumer, combined with a home service and support package.
